Abstract: Our working world is undergoing a process of dramatic change and digitalisation, Europeanisation and economic globalisation are the core drivers of this change. For some time the legislative basis of co-determination has no longer been sufficient to meet these challenges. Both operational co-determination and corporate co-determination need updating. For this reason the German Confederation of Trade Unions (DGB) and its member unions are going on the offensive and calling on policy makers to overcome the impasse in co-determination.
