Episodes in a Century of Macroeconomics

Abstract: The author considers some episodes in the development of macroeconomic theory in the last century. Special attention is paid to the conceptions, which from the author’s point of view constitute an alternative to the neoclassical mainstream. The author explores the state of modern macroeconomics analyzing its advantages and drawbacks and trying to formulate the main directions for the future research.
