Modeling Russian Economy in the Crisis Period

I. Pospelov

Voprosy Ekonomiki, 2009, issue 11

Abstract: The article considers peculiarities of the current global economic crisis with respect to the principles of mathematical model-building. The formal structure and substantial features, preliminary results of calculations for the new model of Russian economy are described as well as its development in the period of 2004—2009. Special attention is paid to the meaning and role of the recently discovered strong turnpike effect: economic system tends to have "universally optimal" trajectories which reflect a reasonable result under different scenarios of distant future.
