US Economic Development Policies: Current Trends and Reasons of Variations on the State Level

Abstract: The article looks into the dynamics of the US regional economic development policies in the last decades and tracks the transition from so-called "locational" to "entrepreneurial" strategies. It also documents existing variations in state economic development programs and explains the differences in approaches and current tendencies from both theoretical and practical standpoints.
