Life-long learning: Consequences for higher education

Abstract: The article considers the essence of the notion of life-long learning. It is shown that effective incorporation of universities into the system of the "life-long learning" requires thorough institutional reforms: from changes in the university organization to educating a new type of teachers. Analyzed are principal difficulties related to the practical implementation of the reform.
