Financing Long-Term Health Care for the Elderly

Abstract: Provides an overview of the long-term care insurance market and why this market may fail and reviews the current federal role in providing health care for the elderly. Discusses possible financing of a public program, along he lines of Medicare, and the distributional consequences of alternative tax bases.
