Abstract: The paper is structured as follows: firstly, the past and present of the nuclear energy is presented, namely KNPP, located on the Danube River in North West Bulgaria. Secondly, the future development with and without climate change is described in detail, and the economic meaning of climate changes is assessed by a comparative analysis. Finally, recommendations for policy makers concerning the adaptation to climate change are outlined.
