Abstract: This paper presents a statistical analysis of data obtained from an empirical study of a sample of Bulgarian SMEs to establish the need for a preliminary assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation process of ERP-systems in such enterprises. The analysis is carried out based on one-dimensional and two-dimensional empirical distributions and verification of statistical hypotheses formulated. The conclusions highlight the need to develop an original methodology and its implementation in software for evaluation of the effectiveness of implementation of ERP systems in SMEs
