Risk Management Strategies in Water Projects in Bulgaria

Abstract: The successful completion of a project in the water sector depends upon the proper identification of the risk factors, as well as determining the extent of their impact on the project objectives and the development of procedures and methods for specific risk reduction strategies. The aim of the paper is to assess the risk in the implementation of projects in the water sector in Bulgaria and to present strategies for the risk management. The methodological framework includes literature review of different strategies for risk management and risk evaluation of projects in the water sector. Based on the risk assessment, risk management strategies are defined depending on the type of risk.
