Abstract: The paper is about cross-cultural compe­tency for foreign language in the context of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages, the European language Portfolio. Learning about different cultures, attitudes, per­spectives and ways of living should be included in the curriculum and respect for differences should be encouraged.
