Abstract:
Modern warfare goes through a period of transformation, encompassing its characteristics and manifestations. When analyzing war transformations, researchers often draw a dividing line between “traditional” and “new” wars, and nowadays there is a growing interest in a different category of war, the so-called “Hybrid war”. In order to evaluate and understand the contemporary manifestations of “war”, the paper traces the features of the different generations of warfare. The hybrid nature of the latest generation of wars is also analyzed. Moreover, the paper outlines the key tools and the success factors in conducting a hybrid war.
