Abstract: The present scientific research examines in their interrelationship the economic and legal aspects of the control over the business activity of higher schools in Bulgaria. The focus is put on the types of control and the bodies which perform said control. Based on the analysis, the authors make conclusions and recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of the control.
