Abstract:
Due to the dualistic nature of law, on one hand it regulates social relations, but on the other it is directly influenced by the specific historical, economic and political development of society. Therefore, the main goal of the article is to explore the functions of law in society, consistently presenting its role in different historical eras, emphasizing the main functions of law and, last but not least, analyzing its specific functions through the prism of civil and criminal law. The article notes that law is not static, but undergoes changes as a result of the changing social relations.
