Interrelation between the Project Culture in the Organization and Project Outcomes

Abstract: There is a multitude of studies on organizational culture and its impact on project management. However, there is not as much focus on specifically researching the project culture in the organization and how it effects the achievement of the project goals. There is no unified understanding of what the elements of project culture are and how they individually or collectively affect the expected outcome. The topic is relevant because of the increasing number of projects that organizations must implement, in a period of development and an environment where time constraints take precedence over financial resource constraints. The elements of project culture and their impact on project outcomes are explored, identifying which elements have the most influence on project results. A model for assessing their level of influence – one that can be effectively used by organizations – is proposed.
