Abstract: The paper examines and analyzes the main goals and tasks for development of regions in Republic of Bulgaria in the context of intelligent specialization. The authors place special emphasis upon the nature of intelligent specialization on a regional level, namely: elaboration of a vision of one region; identification of specific advantages of the region, determination of strategic priorities.
