Abstract:
In this article are highlighted major regulations of telecommunications sector in Romania since market liberalization. I focused mainly on mobile telecommunications because in this sector evolution of competition is more obvious, appearing and disappearing restructured from one month to another. It is interesting to watch the reaction of market participants with the implementation of European standards or the relaxation of certain barriers to entry respectively the output from the market by new entrants appearing even companies with low incomes who still manage to destabilize the market calm that senior players were used. I consider that the main regulatory measures that shocked the entire market is the possibility of number portability. Through implementation has suffered market leader, its market share has surpassed what companies are in the second echelon, it is not even any company that has received several telephone numbers by porting.Although the leader managed to maintain a constant position for many years, it may have problems at the end of the year if it fails to differentiate itself from the rest of the participants. Another important measure that facilitated the entry of new market participants is enabled companies to use another communications networks. These regulatory measures are for the benefit of consumers, who benefit from lower prices and personalized offers. The telecommunications market is considered to be one of oligopolistic competition is manifested far more pronounced and the companies disputing its clients, and are becoming more attentive to address new technologies, even if the numbers say it is not necessary to implement the technology of the latest generation because there is no need to be supported from the population to justify the incurred costs.
