Abstract: Freight transport is certainly the most important branch of transport and certainly one of the most important branches of the economy in general. There is a close link between transport and the evolution and development if mankind, which is why the field of transport has always been of great interest and has undergone a multitude of changes throughout the history. The development of the freight transport sector varies from country to country, with significant differences from one country to another. Freight transport in Romania has not been an area of great interest, and this lack of interest is reflected in the lack of investment needed to operate properly and to make this area attractive and economically efficient.
