Abstract:
Working (operating) capital available for use is an important factor in the success of the business firm and the whole supply chain. Effective working capital management helps in balancing usage of capital, not only for the firm, but for the suppliers and the consumers too, that is in the best interests of all parties in the supply chain. The effects of such working capital management are particularly important for trading businesses. In this paper we discuss issues of the cash conversion cycle analysis (cash gap analysis) and the control of working capital in the case of trading companies in the Republic of Croatia, with special emphasis on the effects in the supply chain management of the trading company.
