Abstract: Mega - initiators of today – information and communication technology, internationalization and globalisation, social changes and changes in consumer behaviour, are challenging nowday's business entities. How to ensure competitive advantage? How to achieve customer's satisfaction? How to provide new consumer value? Successful organisations of nowadays have found a solution in integrated approach – by connecting with their consumers and suppliers – in recognising and fulfilling consumer wishes, creating high- quality products and cost reduction – all together within shorter time span. Traditional competitive relations based on cost – reduction between all parties participating in distribution channel have been replaced by partnerships with customers, suppliers and other subjects involved. Process management at all management levels in business entity has replaced traditional management by functions becoming new source of competitive advantage. Paper defines and marks the fields of implementation of the Supply chain management concept based on management by processes, integration of distribution channels and software implementation with “best - in - class” retailing example – American Wal – Mart.
