Abstract:
This paper analyzes the relationship between technology spillover due to foreign direct investment (FDI) in China by multinational corporations (MNCs), human capital accumulation, and the country's economic growth. Regression analysis is performed on a large panel data set encompassing 28 Chinese provinces over the period 1985-2003. The results indicate that interaction between MNC FDI and human capital accumulation can better promote economic growth in China.
