Abstract: Beijing is the political and cultural center of China and the economic hub of the north and west of the country. As one of China's largest and wealthiest cities and home to the central government and many international organizations, Beijing is an important market from a global perspective. Despite a slowdown in local growth caused by the world economic crisis, Beijing offers significant opportunities. This paper discusses conditions in the Beijing market since the end of the Olympic Games held there in August 2008.
