International Journal of Low-Carbon Technologies, 2025, vol. 20, 1195-1203

Abstract: Magnesium hydroxide (MH), attributed to its distinctive physicochemical attributes and extensive application potential, has garnered widespread utilization across diverse domains, encompassing flame retardants, environmental protection, medical sciences, electronics, and thermal insulation materials. In this investigation, MH was primarily synthesized from MgCl₂·6H₂O through the process of electrochemical deposition. Ultimately, the optimal process parameters were established as follows: Mg2+ ions concentration of 0.5 mol/L in the electrolyte, deposition temperature maintained at 40 °C, deposition duration of 4 h, an electrolyte pH adjusted to 6, and electrode spacing set at 4 cm, current density was 0.05 A/cm2.
