Abstract:
The low-carbon economy has become one of the basic directions for addressing global climate change. The study takes the sporting goods manufacturing industry as an example to explore digital economy and environmental regulation impact on its carbon emission through System GMM model from 2010 to 2023, and draws conclusions: (1) the digital economy inhibits carbon emissions. In the eastern and central regions, there is a significant inhibitory effect, but not significant in the western region. (2) Environmental regulations effects show a nonlinear relationship, but in the western region, the environmental regulations have a limited effect, and when the environmental regulations are more stringent, the promoted impact is more significant.
