Lithium-ion battery equalization control strategy for photovoltaic-battery energy storage systems

Abstract: In this paper, the battery equalization technology of LiFePO4 battery energy storage system applied in photovoltaic is studied, using passive equalization circuit instead of active equalization circuit because passive equalization circuit is more suitable, and the shortcomings of the standard equalization control strategy applied to LiFePO4 battery are analyzed in detail, which is mainly caused by the characteristics of LiFePO4 battery, and this paper also proposes optimization scheme to improve the performance. An experimental platform is built for testing to prove the feasibility of the proposed strategy.
