Abstract: Anthropogenic hazardous particulate matters (AHPM) refers to small airborne particles generated by human activities. This review aims to summarize the basic information on the classification, source, and distribution pattern of AHPM and its hazards. The classification of different adsorbent materials is summarized. Based on the characteristics of various adsorbent materials, the trend of new adsorbent materials in the future development is proposed. This provides researchers with new ideas for the study of adsorption of AHPM and gives an outlook on the research of new adsorbent materials and describes their potential application value.
