Abstract:
The reputation of absorption systems has risen and fallen due to economic condition and technology breakthroughs from competing vapour compression systems. Now absorption air-conditioning is again a very good option, due to the environmental feature of no ozone depletion potential, and may have less impact on global warming than most other options. Most absorption air-conditioning systems are water-cooled rather than air-cooled due to the substantial difference between their effective heat transfer coefficients. This paper concerns with a new technique of air-cooled system, which overcomes a lot of limitations/constraints encountered in both air-cooled and water-cooled absorption systems and may even be competitive with vapour compression systems.
