The bifurcation challenge at the Unified Patent Court

Abstract:
Among the issues that have been examined during the preparatory phase for establishing the Unified Patent Court (UPC), bifurcation is one of the most discussed and criticized.In this article, the trends towards bifurcation developed during the first year of the UPC operations will be examined, thus offering valuable insights into what we can expect to see in the near future.
