Abstract:
This paper examines historical trends in the evolution of research using econometrics, simulation, and operations research within agricultural economics. An examination of articles in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and the Journal of Farm Economics was conducted. Articles were classified according to the type of quantitative technique employed. Trends were identified and analyzed to reveal changes in quantitative techniques favored by agricultural economics researchers.
