Planning and reviewing the participation in European R&D programmes: the experience of Siemens

Research Evaluation, 1992, vol. 2, issue 1, 55-58
Abstract:
Siemens has participated in some of the large EC R&D programmes and has evaluated the results. The conclusion is that the most frequent results of such co-operation are the creation of a broader technological base, the contribution to standardisation, and risk and resource sharing. The Commission has pointed out that, as well as co-operative R&D, demand, training, external relations and the business environment are prerequisites of success in global competition.
