Evaluation in the social sciences: the strategic context
Paule Leduc
Research Evaluation, 1994, vol. 4, issue 1, 2-5
Abstract:
There is still a certain amount of ground to cover between what evaluation in the social sciences should do in theory and what it can currently do in practice. The challenge is to prepare the groundwork for an approach and a methodology through which to gauge the advancement of knowledge in research under conditions of exponential growth, and establish the relationship between research activities and the attainment of their underlying social objectives.
