Abstract:
Issues and factors involved in the development of research evaluation activities in Greece are presented and analysed Research evaluation activities are seen as a fundamental element of research policy, strategy and management, which in turn reflect on the development of new and improved approaches, methodologies and resources for those activities. The legal framework and the main actors that perform and use research evaluation in Greece are examined Analysis focuses on issues relating to the establishment of a coherent dynamic system of research evaluation in Greece, and conclusions are drawn as to its prospects and constraints.
