On the pursuit of systemic technology policies in an unstable environment: reflections on a Swedish case
Anders Granberg
Research Evaluation, 1996, vol. 6, issue 2, 143-157
Abstract:
Some reflections are offered on the design and implementation of technology policies or programmes of a ‘systemic’ nature. This refers to the characteristic aim and approach of such support efforts — to consider the entire system of actors and interactions that drive the development and application of a given technology, and to identify and then strengthen the weak components and links of the system. The complexity of the task and the sensitivity of the undertaking to changes in external conditions are emphasised. The particular case considered is the Swedish powder technology programme, PT-90, an ongoing effort with distinctly systemic ambitions. Copyright , Beech Tree Publishing.
