Abstract: The idea of taxing the use of the Internet has caused an immediate adverse reaction. Yet such a tax would be small and may serve to filter the ever-increasing abundance of information being loaded. Here some of the main arguments are brought together and a case made for the urgent need to investigate further the feasibility of a ‘bit tax’. Copyright , Beech Tree Publishing.
