The brain drain from Mexico: The experience of scientists

Abstract: What are the causes of Mexico's brain drain? Mexican scientists are rarely asked: yet they are the principal actors and, arguably, those most directly affected by the phenomenon. The interviews presented in this paper are largely reproduced verbatim to reveal some unsuspected features of a wider process of self-doubt and reassessment which is being undergone by the Mexican scientific community.
