Where is research located in Canada? A statistical approach

Frances Anderson

Science and Public Policy, 1998, vol. 25, issue 6, 396-406

Abstract: Using a framework for the systematic collection of statistics on science and technology that has been developed by the Science and Technology Redesign Project at Statistics Canada, this paper will demonstrate the range of indicators that can be used to describe the location of R&D, examining both currently available statistical indicators of the location of research and assessing significant gaps in information in Canada. The paper will also address the issue of the determinants of the location of R&D. Copyright , Beech Tree Publishing.
