On the Quantitative Aspects of Hungarian Privatization

Peter Mihalyi

Comparative Economic Studies, 1997, vol. 39, issue 2, 72-95

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to provide a quantitative framework for the analysis of Hungarian privatization, and to do so within a framework that will make international comparisons meaningful. We analyze the underpinnings of Hungarian privatization first by focusing on methodological issues, and second, by analyzing Hungarian data to understand the nature of measurement problems underlying the privatization process during the 1990s*
