Abstract: This paper discusses challenges and policy options for sustainable natural resource management in the context of increasing commodity price volatility for developing countries. We first examine the complications that increasing commodity price volatility creates at each of the three stages of the natural resource management chain. We then discuss policy options that have been adopted by individual countries to resolve the complications created by increasing commodity price volatility.
