Abstract:
Roy Prosterman argues that China will continue feeding itself very adequately for the foreseeable future on its small, household-operated farms, if it can implement the secure land rights contemplated by the 1998 Land Management Law, enabling farmer investment. But success will require further specific measures. Development (2001) 44, 79–84. doi:10.1057/palgrave.development.1110297
