Abstract:
John Manoochehri raises concerns about over-consumption of resources and analysis of changing consumer behaviour at the heart of the current international debate on sustainable consumption. He proposes that the terms of the debate were set by Agenda 21 and the concerns of sustainable development. He explores both the conceptual coherence of sustainable consumption and its relationship with sustainable development as a way to explain the lack of action on consumption since Rio.
