Abstract:
Sexuality, gender, class and ethnicity are important variables to consider when studying prostitution. Marie-Louise Janssen explores the creation of femininity among Latin American sex workers in The Netherlands. Based on the narrative of a Colombian transvestite sex worker, she analyses briefly the influence of markers of difference, such as homosexuality and nationality, on the configuration of gender and sexuality.
