Balancing Peace with Justice in the Aftermath of Violent Conflict1
Rama Mani
Development, 2005, vol. 48, issue 3, 25-34
Abstract:
In her discussions of the different forms of justice, Rama Mani argues that international peacebuilders have sometimes imposed rather than proposed and facilitated solutions. She proposes that in order to rejoin peace and justice there must be a ‘social compact’ forged between all stakeholders in post-conflict societies: civilians and combatants, citizens and governments, international peacebuilders and national recipients.
