Abstract: Sadig Rasheed argues that strong commitment to international development co-operation is visibly faltering, precisely at the historical juncture when such commitment and creative vision on strengthened global partnership are most needed. He proposes a reinstatement of the North–South dialogue that moves beyond an uncritical monologue on the virtues and benefits of globalization and free markets, focusing on Africa as the ‘priority of the priorities’.
