Abstract: Francisca Rodríguez López discusses how indigenous women in Chiapas struggle to achieve respect and their rights to life and peace. Indigenous women have a relationship to the land, that is, lived differently than men's despite the collective work shared between women and men. Women preserve culture and tradition, and they have fought for generations in the defence of their land. Women struggle on three levels: for their land, against discrimination and for the acknowledgement of their rights.
