Abstract: Africa's unprecedented rapid growth over the past decade has renewed optimism about the possibility of tapping its investment potential while addressing its development challenges. Elsie S. Kanza argues that a central actor in this process must be the African citizen and explores the trends, challenges and opportunities that African citizens are confronted with.
