Flavio Luiz Schieck Valente

Development, 2014, vol. 57, issue 2, 155-170

Abstract: This article describes the conceptual evolution of the right to food into its current denomination as human right to adequate food and nutrition in the broader context of the indivisibility of human rights, women’s rights and food sovereignty. It also explores the challenges and opportunities provided by the Second International Conference on Nutrition and describes the political foundations of civil society’s engagement in the preparation and planned follow-up of the conference.
