Reclaiming Democratic Spaces Through Liberatory Imagination

Semanur Karaman () and Ana Cernov ()

Development, 2017, vol. 60, issue 1, 22-31

Abstract: Abstract In a challenging context with increasing obstacles for civil society to contribute and build democracy and foster its values, the article explores how individuals and groups have also increased their responses. What can be done to strengthen this ongoing resistance and recognize the achievements of social movements and organized groups to reclaim democracy and put equality back in the centre of the struggles?
