Abstract:
Illustrates the effects some industries are having on the aggregate indicatormeasuring movements in prices charged for servicesThis quarter, the regional economicindicators article focuses on enterprise– one of the drivers of regionalproductivity. The regular part of the articlethen gives an overview of the economicactivity of UK regions in terms of theirgross value added (GVA), GVA per headand labour productivity. This is followedby a presentation of headline indicators ofregional welfare, other drivers of regionalproductivity and regional labour marketstatistics. The indicators cover the nineGovernment Office Regions of Englandand the devolved administrations ofNorthern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.These 12 areas comprise level 1 of theEuropean Nomenclature of Units forTerritorial Statistics (NUTS level 1) for theUK.
