Regional gross value added

Abstract: This article presents estimates for regional gross value added at current basic prices published in December 2008. These data are published using the European Union Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics (NUTS) regions. Data are published at the NUTS1 level for the time period 1989 to 2007 and at the NUTS2 and NUTS3 level for the time period 1995 to 2006. This is followed with an overview of the methodology used in the calculation of regional GVA and the article is concluded with the Office for National Statistics’ future plans for regional economic data.
