The labour market in the 1980s, 1990s and 2008/09 recessions

Abstract: SUMMARYThis article analyses and compares the movements in key labour market outcomes during the last three recessions and in the first six months of each recovery. These include: employment and jobs by industry and region, hours and wages, and unemployment and inactivity.
