Abstract: SummaryA measure of the accuracy of the Retail Sales Index (RSI) has been produced by estimating the standard errors of index movements. This article reports on the calculation of standard errors for one‐month and 12‐month movements in the RSI. It provides an overview of standard errors and their meaning in the context of the RSI.
